Mission Statement
The Teaching Assistant (TA) Development Program is a division of the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL). The purpose of the TA Development Program is to enhance the teaching effectiveness of Tech's TAs for the benefit of our current undergraduates' education as well as encourage the development of the TAs as the academic professionals of tomorrow. The TA Development Program works with individual TAs as well as the various academic units at Georgia Tech that employ students as TAs.

Events and Services for TAs
- General Orientation: Campus-wide TA orientation at the beginning of each Fall term
- International TA Orientation: Campus-wide orientation for graduates who will be working as a TA
- Teaching Assistant Development Program: Seminars, Workshops, and other programs for both new and experienced TAs.
- Classroom Observation: Observation and evaluation of teaching
- CETL/BP Awards: Teaching excellence awards
- Courses for graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants
- GTA Resource Office: Provides a library of teaching resources (books, journals, videotapes) for TAs and departmental coordinators
- Consultations and Workshops: Consult on, develop, and implement unit- and discipline-specific orientation and training programs for TAs. Contact Dr. Lydia Soleil.
- TAs are welcome to attend Faculty Development Seminars held in Fall and Spring
- Faculty and staff who work with TAs may submit a mini-grant proposal to request funds to support TA development programs in their departments.
