Her current research centers on innovative integrated Architecture/Engineering/Construction/Facility Management (AECFM) solutions for a Smart built environment. She specializes in evolving project delivery contracting strategies, such as the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) approach, Flash Tracking, and trust-building. Her scholarly works also include emerging trends, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Internet-of-Things (IoT), and Lean Construction.
Following the Harvard Business School model, Pishdad-Bozorgi aspires to adapt case study methodology into construction management education, as it is proven to be effective both in teaching and exploratory qualitative research.
Pishdad-Bozorgi holds a Ph.D., three Master's degrees, and a Bachelor's degree in different but complementing disciplines of Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, and Architectural Engineering. Pishdad-Bozorgi’s unique and multi-disciplinary educational background has given her a broad, yet in-depth perspective for designing, engineering, managing, and constructing a built environment.
Pishdad-Bozorgi has been the recipient of numerous international, national, and regional awards and recognitions for her excellence in research and teaching. At Georgia Tech, she has developed and taught new courses, such as “Integrated Design, Construction & Development,” and “Building Information Modeling.” Prior to joining the faculty at Georgia Tech, Pishdad-Bozorgi developed and taught several undergraduate and graduate courses, such as Building Information Modeling, Computer-based Construction Estimation, and Facilities Integration at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and Virginia Tech.
Her industry experience includes her employment with Turner Construction Company and Tishman Construction Corporation. Pishdad-Bozorgi’s sponsored research projects—with the Construction Industry Institute (CII), The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), and The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)—have kept her closely involved with the industry professionals. Her research on Flash Tracking has taken momentum and her research results have been integrated into practice by these sponsors.
